The story behind the numbers

You and your banker want the same outcome: a deal that works. But your loan officer can only work with what you provide and must represent your business to a credit committee that may never meet you.

They need more than numbers. They need a clear, credible story that explains why the business looks the way it does, what the past three years reveal, and where it is headed next.

There is a second piece many business owners overlook: the banking relationship itself. If you contact your bank only when you need financing, every request starts from the beginning. Strong relationships are built between requests.

I help you build the story behind the numbers, so your next conversation starts further ahead than this one.

What we build

  • A lender readiness review. Where you stand before you apply, not after.

  • A gap analysis against the credit metrics your lender will apply.

  • Recast financials with documented adjustments.

  • Cash flow models and supporting documentation.

  • A written credit narrative for your lending team.

I have been on both sides of the table

As a partner in both projects, I led the financing for an 8,126-square-foot commercial building in 2008 and a 7,070-square-foot renovation in 2024. I also negotiated two subsequent refinances of the 2008 building.

More than 20 years inside growing businesses gave me the other perspective. I built the forecasts, prepared the valuations, and assembled the financial packages presented to lenders and credit committees.

I know what lenders need and how to present the information they rely on.
